China Plastics Machinery Industry Association and China Plastics Processing Industry Association recently jointly held a seminar on the development trend of injection molding machine technology in Ningbo. The two associations said at the meeting that the plastic machinery and plastic products industry should strengthen cooperation in the future to jointly achieve sound development.

According to the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2006, the output of plastic products by enterprises above designated size reached 280.19 million tons, an increase of 18.68 percent over the previous year. According to the data provided by China Plastics Processing Industry Association, in 2006, the total output value of the national plastic products industry reached 635.815 billion yuan, up 25.33% over the previous year, and the production and sales rate reached 98%. The total output value of plastic processing equipment increased by 32.47%. The industry of plastic machinery and plastic products showed very good growth momentum last year.

Liao Zhengpin, president of China Plastics Processing Industry Association, said that China is the world's largest producer of plastic products and plastic machines, ranking second and first in the world, but overall, China has not become a world power. The prominent problem in these two industries is that the product technology content is not high, especially in the plastic products industry, the new products and new processes are introduced slowly. And plastic machinery industry is facing fierce international competition, only on the price of low-end competition has no advantage at all. Therefore, the two industries should strengthen interaction and communication in the future to promote common development through cooperation.
